How Employers Can Have Healthier, More Productive Employees

Gateway Regional Occupational Health Services can help your company maintain a safer work environment by preventing injuries, which helps lower costs and increase productivity. We focus on promoting the health and safety of your workers, and ensuring that they are fit for the duties of their jobs, before problems occur.

With more than 25 years experience, Gateway Regional Medical Center is the area’s leading provider of Occupational Health Services. We have over 150 highly skilled physicians, representing 39 different specialties, and an experienced staff of other medical professionals. We offer a full range of services and programs to benefit your business.

Work Injury Prevention

Our Occupational Health Services help your company reduce liability and lost productivity by preventing employee injuries. And most injuries are preventable. Here are some services we provide:

  •  OSHA compliance workplace inspections to assess potential safety issues
  • Ergonomic evaluations
  • Pre-employment physical exams and drug testing
  • Physical fitness simulations for laborers to determine capabilities for pushing, pulling or carrying heavy loads
  • 24-hour on-site drug screening services
  • Employer supervisory drug testing education programs

Work Injury Rehabilitation

When injuries do occur, we have full-service facilities and experienced staff to provide the best of care to your employees. We provide outstanding emergency room services, physical therapists, exercise physiologists, case managers, safety specialists and even social workers to get your employees healed and back on the job as quickly as possible.

Maintaining a Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace

We help you maintain a safe and productive work environment by providing 24-hour drug screening, breath alcohol testing, and hair testing. We also train your managers and supervisors to identify employees who may be abusing drugs or alcohol, and consult on developing policies and procedures for your drug-testing program.

Employee Assistance Program

Employees may face difficult issues at work or home that can seriously affect their performance. The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides counseling from licensed social workers or psychologists to work on job conflicts, workplace communication, team building, consultation on policies and procedures, and management orientation training. EAP also helps with more personal issues such as marital and family problems, emotional issues, substance abuse and financial concerns.

For employees traveling abroad, we help them prepare for any health risks they may encounter. Dr. Christopher Knapp, MD, MPH and his staff, which is trained in global medicine, offers a variety of services, including a yellow fever vaccination clinic, customized health guides, and country-specific health advice. We can address health concerns for international travel such as:

DOT Exams

The Department of Transportation continues to amend federal regulations to promote a safer work force, and has made recent changes in the drug screen collection process.  We continue to stay up to date on the federal regulation changes to ensure compliance.
