We have a brand new Mammography Suite that will make you feel a whole lot better about having that mammogram. It’s more private, more accurate, less stressful, and yes – more comfortable.

Better Images
The most important new feature is the advanced digital technology. We acquired the new Selenia® Dimensions® 2D full field digital mammography system, which provides incredibly sharp images, allowing our radiologists to detect the tiniest micro-calcifications – even in women with very dense breast tissue.

The sharpness and clarity of these images allows us to detect cancer in its earliest stages, which is a huge advantage. The earlier breast cancer can be found, the greater chance for a positive outcome.

Safer and More Convenient

The digital image is available instantly, so you don’t have to wait around to find out if the image taken was useful, then go back in for a retake if it wasn’t. If an abnormality is found, you don’t necessarily need to have further imaging done. The image can be enlarged and contrasted to get a better view of the area of concern. This saves you time and reduces exposure to radiation – which is already 30% - 40% less than traditional mammography.

Digital also allows for the image to be transmitted instantly to your physician, or to any doctor or specialist anywhere.

More Comfort

We now offer a softer, warmer approach to mammograms with the MammoPad. Instead of compression between two cold, hard plastic plates, you have soft foam pads to cushion the compression. This is not only more comfortable, it actually helps provide a better image. Putting bare skin on a cold surface causes you tense up. But when you have a soft, warm surface, you relax. When you’re relaxed and comfortable, it’s easier to hold still for the image.

The staff is friendly, and more importantly, very experienced. Every technologist is certified, caring, and works exclusively in mammography. And the facility is accredited by the American College of Radiology.
