Gateway Regional Medical Center (GRMC) continues to add quality physicians to it’s medical staff. Last week GRMC added a general surgeon, Wesley Harris, M.D. and a physchiatry hospitalist, Jordan Balter, D.O.
Dr. Harris, board certified surgeon, joined the practice Gateway Surgical and Vein Care located in the Medical Office Building adjacent to Gateway Regional Medical Center. He currently practices at Alton Memorial Hospital, as well. Harris earned his medical degree from Medical College of Wisconsin with honors in surgery and ambulatory medicine. He completed his residency at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force. Dr. Harris provides a full range of general surgery procedures, including laparoscopic colon surgery, breast biopsy, abdominal procedures, and hernia repair.
Dr. Balter has been working in the St. Louis area since 2004 providing comprehensive psychiatric services including inpatient, outpatient, nursing home, group home and partial hospitalization programs. At GRMC, he will work as a hospitalist, caring for the inpatient population in the Behavioral Health Services Department. Dr. Balter earned his degree in osteopathic medicine at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his psychiatry residency training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
