Would you want a blood transfusion if it could be prevented?

Gateway Regional Medical Center has expanded its services to fulfill its patients’ wishes by adding the Bloodless Surgery and Transfusion Options Program. It is available for those patients who desire medical and surgical care without a blood transfusion.

Victor Ruiz, MD, Medical Director, and Todd Hofmeister, RN, BSN, Program Director, have over six years of experience in caring for patients without blood transfusions.

Bloodless Medicine and Surgery Programs utilize a number of “Options” to care for patients. To be enrolled in Gateway’s Program, inform the registration clerk of your preferences to be treated without blood transfusion when you come to the hospital.
