All patients are admitted to Gateway Regional Medical Center without regard to race, creed, color, sex, national origin or disability.

Your admission begins with your physician’s decision that you need medical treatment on an inpatient or outpatient basis. The registration area, admission and outpatient services are located on the ground floor in the hall off the main lobby.

Hours: 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday

To pre-register for inpatient services or to register for outpatient services, call 618-798-3100.

When you arrive, certain necessary information will be requested for your medical records and for financial arrangements. You may be assured that all of the information provided will be handled confidentially. Whether you have individual coverage, Medicare, Medicaid or other forms of insurance.

Please remember to bring your insurance card or other identification with you when you register. If you have a living will or someone has power of attorney for you, please arrange to have the documents brought to the hospital.

We will make a copy of them for our records. Please have a family member or friend take the originals home. Also, bring any medication(s) you are currently taking with a list with dosages and times.

You will receive a room assignment based on the type of medical care you will receive and room availability.
